Mendy was accused of sexually assaulting women between October 2018 and August 2021. At the time, he committed 7 crimes against 5 women, and Mandy, who was arrested, lived in prison after being imprisoned in a detention center.

After 134 days in custody, Mandy was recently released on bail. His confinement life, as well as returning his passport, and wearing an electronic anklet were the conditions for bail. Since then, one more charge has been added, bringing the number of people alleging Mendy’s crimes to seven. In the trial held in January this year, he was acquitted of some charges, but the jury was unable to reach a verdict on the remaining charges, so a retrial was held this time.

According to a British Times report on the 15th (Korean time), Mandy shed tears when she was found not guilty in a retrial for sexually assaulting a woman at her mansion. The jury acquitted Mendy on one count of rape and one count of attempted rape after three hours of deliberation.

Mendy said in a statement, “I would like to thank the jury for focusing on the evidence rather than rumors. He is happy that the right verdict came out. Three years have passed since the police investigated the matter. I tried to stay strong, but I couldn’t. Thank you to everyone who supported me during my ordeal. We ask for privacy so we can rebuild our lives.”

However, in the case of the alleged attempted sexual assault that occurred in October 2018, no agreement was reached.

Mendy drew attention by playing a key role in winning the AS Monaco Ligue 1 in the 2016-2017 season and advancing to the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League (UCL). However, as his crimes were revealed, he was suspended from the game by Man City in August of last year.
