Anderson, who proved KIA’s 1st selection, “Korean baseball cheering culture is really good”

KIA Tigers’ first starter’ Shawn Anderson (29) won his first KBO League victory in his third appearance. I received warm congratulations from my colleagues.

Anderson started on the 12th at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field in the second leg of a three-week series against the Hanwha Eagles in the 2023 KBO League, pitching well with three hits and one walk in seven innings, leading KIA to a 2-0 victory. Chae Eun-seong, Kim In-hwan, and Kim Tae-yeon, who were hot the day before, were completely blocked. Hanwha starting pitcher Moon Dong-ju threw a ball at over 160 km per hour and put on a light-speed ball show, but it was Anderson who led the team to victory.

Anderson scored 3 runs in 6 2/3 innings in the opening game against SSG Landers on the 1st, and 3 runs in 7 1/3 innings against the Doosan Bears on the 7th. He made two consecutive quality starts (6 or more innings and 3 earned runs or less), but the batting line only supported 1 run when he was on the mound. All of them became losing pitchers. However, at the Hanwha match, he laughed at the end of the 2nd match and 3rd period. KIA coach Kim Jong-guk also said, “It seems that winning with an advantageous ball count regardless of the type of pitch led to good results. Congratulations on your first win in the KBO League.”

After the post-game interview, Anderson was baptized with congratulatory water from teammate pitchers such as Yang Hyeon-jong and Jung Hae-young. I was soaked, but I did not hide my joy. In his victory speech, he smiled and said, “The biggest driving force behind victory is Lee Woo-sung (who scored 2 RBIs in the 2nd inning final).” He also mentioned the good defense of Yasujin. Personally, I was satisfied with the 7th inning, when the number of pitches increased, and the fact that I caught an out count even after being put on a disadvantageous ball count.

Anderson studied the Hanwha batting line from a week ago. He raised his voice, saying, “Apart from the league level, I focus on the match against the batter. Above all, I pitch with the feeling that I am attacking unconditionally. If I get a hit, I get hit.” He continued, “The most important thing is that the team wins and I help.”

Adaptation to other places seems to be no problem. Although my life in Korea was short, I was left with a good impression.토스카지노 He said, “I like the fans” as an impression he received from the KBO League. When asked specifically, “It’s amazing that each hitter has a cheering song. When I came down from the mound, I was amazed by the fans chanting my name. It’s an experience I’ve never had before.” “There are many people who treat me kindly even when pitching in the bullpen or passing the ground.

Yang Hyeon-jong approached Anderson during the interview. A congratulatory message for “first win” was written and delivered at the top of the lineup table pasted on the dugout. Anderson posed with this lineup in a good mood.
